A district is a geographical or linguistic subdivision of an area. The district committee is comprised of General Service Representatives (GSR) and other interested A.A. members and is chaired by the District Committee Member (DCM). The district helps coordinate its groups’ efforts in fulfilling the Tradition 5 mission of carrying A.A.’s message to the alcoholic who still suffers, developing understanding of A.A.s principles through workshops, and facilitating communication between groups and the General Service Conference through the delegate.
